Our Vision
At the Office for Sustainability our vision is to foster a culture of sustainability across all university activities, including research, teaching, patient care, and facilities management with the goal of ensuring the university’s lasting positive environmental and social impact. We envision LAU to be a leading force in sustainability on a local and regional level.
Our Mission
Our ultimate mission is to integrate sustainability into every aspect of the university’s ecosystem: academic programs, research, campus operations, and community engagement. By combining interdisciplinary efforts, we empower students, faculty, staff and the broader community to make a change in the world.
We fulfill this mission by:
- Integrating sustainability into academic curricula and physician trainings
- Contributing to innovative research that aligns with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
- Driving policy change that meets local and global goals
- Reinforcing sustainable use and management of environmental resources on campus
- Collaborating with local communities
