Ramy Sakr
With over 13 years of experience in environmental management, sustainable development, and humanitarian livelihood programming, Ramy Sakr is an accomplished expert in advancing impactful initiatives on climate change, biodiversity conservation, forestry, agroecology, and sustainability. His expertise extends to designing and managing multi-sectoral development programs that support marginalized communities and address socio-economic and livelihood challenges.
Ramy joined the Office for Sustainability as Lead Projects Coordinator, where he leads university-wide efforts to align environmental initiatives with institutional strategies and global sustainability frameworks. He plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing multinational projects, advancing applied research, fostering community engagement, and promoting cross-campus collaboration in sustainability.
Holding a Master’s in Environmental Sciences and Management and a Bachelor’s in Biology and Biochemistry from Saint Joseph University - Beirut (USJ), Ramy brings an interdisciplinary perspective that bridges scientific research with practical field experience. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with UN agencies, international NGOs, and academic institutions, managing more than 18 national and international projects with a combined portfolio exceeding USD 10.5 million. He has also contributed to key national publications and technical reports on forest restoration, biodiversity monitoring and climate change, ecotourism, water governance, land degradation neutrality, and rural resilience planning in Lebanon.
